Bracelets for Brothers at WSOP Events

For the first time two brothers have won bracelets at different WSOP events in the same year.

Two brothers, Blair and Grant Hinkle, have made a name for themselves in poker history. This year's WSOP brought success for both of them in different events. Within two weeks, the two brothers from Kansas came out tops in different events. The first up was Grant Hinkle who won Event number 2, that was a $1,500 buy-in No Limit Hold'Em event. The amount up for grabs for finishing in first place in this event was $831,462 and Grant managed to wipe out a field of 3,929 players in order to pick up the winnings.

Eleven days later Blair Hinkle won his bracelet in the $2,000 No Limit Hold'Em event. Young Blair at the age of 22 became a professional poker player earlier this year, after beginning to play the game seriously just two years ago. The win in this WSOP event out of a field of 1,344 players earned him an winnings in the amount of $507,563. It is interesting to note that the total prize pool for this event amounted to $2,446,080 that was shared between the players that finished in the top 99 positions.

The only other brothers that have both won WSOP bracelets in the past are Puggy Pearson and J.C. Pearson who won in the years 1973 and 1994 respectively. The Hinkle brothers are the first siblings to make such an achievement in the same year.

The proud mother of the brothers was present at both finals in Las Vegas and would now reportedly be happy to receive a replica bracelet of her own. Blair Hinkle did wish to point out that both brothers learned how to play poker from their grandmother Sue.

The Hinkle brothers appear to be now looking forward to participating in the WSOP Main Event.
