Pamela Brunson – The Brunson Legacy Continues

The Brunson legacy continues. Pamela Brunson has won the Bicycle Casino Ladies Night tourney played on August 18th and 19th. The daughter of Dolye Brunson, Pam has made the 'Godfather of Poker' very proud, indeed. Dolye's son Todd Brunson is also an accomplished poker player who has carved a niche for himself in the world of poker gaming.

Playing in the Dolyes Room this time, Pam has played in several final tables in the past. However, this is the first time that she has won a major poker tournament. By winning this tourney, Pam has proved that she is worthy of the family's poker reputation. Pamela Brunson had made it to the final table of the tournament that had a field of 125 women. Pam will take home a cool $34,000 by virtue of this win.

Earlier, Pamela Brunson had won a seat in the final table of the Ladies' Night after conquering quite a few big names consisting of celebrities and professional poker players. There is another credit to the Brunson family. This is the first time that a father-daughter duo has won a WPT title.

This victory has also earned her a place in the popular WPT Ladies Night that will be held at the end of this month. She will have to pit her skills against accomplished names like Linda Johnson, Kristy Gazes, Melissa Hayden, Mimi Tran, and the champion of last year - JJ Liu.

The event also marks the first collaboration of WPT and Ladies Poker Association (LPA). This event is also significant for the fact that it is an initiative to raise funds for charity, the proceeds of which will go to Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast-cancer research. Around 15% of the $1000 buy-ins have been contributed to the foundation. And being a part of this noble cause has made the victory all the more memorable for Pamela Brunson.
