Sands when he went to Las Vegas from Greece had the odds not in his favor and nobody thought he'd be a success in the live tourney. He is a novice who began playing poker online only in March and got a seat in the World Series of Poker just a month later.

But, Sands managed to survive swimming with the top pros at the poker tables. Sands craved for improving his game and played 4 hours a day, 5 days a week without losing or winning limit in sight.

As a result, the combination of his purposefulness and natural talent gave him a seat in the WSOP of this year, and the diving instructor headed to Las Vegas to the live tournament, first in his life.

Up against 6,844 gamblers, Sands was a small fry in the ocean of gamblers, however, his three-month poker experience forced him through day after day to end up in place 577 for $23,160.

According to Sands, his success in the Main Event is 75% of skill and 25% of luck. He emphasized that the psychological aspects of poker are very important, adding that the ability to read tells of other players is essential.

Sands says that in online tournaments the bet speed and amount are fine indicators of a player’s tells.

But not only Sands was the player for Titan Poker who did well at the 2008 WSOP. Alberto Andrews Fon Rytzner also got his seat of the Main Event at Titan Poker and finished in place 441 for a part of the prize pool that consists of several millions dollar.
